DISCUSSION QUESTION:

The main function of this energy center is to provide momentum to move forward and realize personal desires and intentions in the world. It plays a fundamental role in the development of personal power. It feeds one’s direction in life and the actions taken in order to reach your goals. It influences preoccupations about social status and self-image.

Stand up tall, take a deep breath and stretch the distance between your feet and your head.  Sense the personal power in the solar plexus chakra.

We believe that the role of education should help each individual find his or her life purpose.  When we fulfill our life purpose the world becomes the greatest version of itself.  If education doesn't do this, but instead imposes a career path that suits the needs of the corporations, it is preventing the highest well-being of the individual and in turn the world.

Issues: The Education System

1. The Education System is costing more and more each year.  The average student starts adult life deep in debt.

2. Today the development of our intellect and our will takes place during our formative years while we are in an education system that has an agenda to funnel workers into their workforce.  If teachers are in high demand the education system responds by cranking out lots of teachers.  If engineers are in high demand it cranks out engineers.

3. If each individual is unique with a unique life purpose, is it possible for a one-size-fits-all curriculum to meet their educational needs successfully?  What happens when a person isn't suited for any of the very few outcomes the educational system is cranking out?  What if each person is supposed to bring something brand new to the world and without their contribution the world doesn't progress in the right direction?

Have you ever observed a time when the educational system pushed you or a loved one into a standard educational path that wasn't effective for you?

What can we do to prevent the educational system from imposing a limiting standard upon our children?

  1. I chose to do a home-based education because my family and I believed it was the best way for me to develop my skills and follow my passions without being pressured or diverted from either.
